Now, only the current gen consoles get regular updates and new content, while the PS3 version is basically stuck in the same state it was in a year or more ago.
The PS3 will only ever get the UEE edition, up to a certain patch, while the PS4/XB1 is still getting updates and also got the new DLC. If you really can't or don't want to spend the money on the extra content right now, you can still buy a physical disc copy of UEE for around $30 from places like Amazon. Just purchasing that will still entitle you to all the free patched-in content that was released even yesterday. The only thing you wouldn't own would be the new add-on pack, and there is honestly enough content in the UEE to keep you occupied for a long time.
