Everything on google seems to lead to a dead end: I have a eGalax Touchscreen which I have used under windows and other distros of linux. I have tried building the kernel myself, but it was a lot of effort, and after several hours and a successful build, it had detected the touchscreen but the compiled kernel caused other issues on the Pi. I am using my touchscreen upside down on my LCD screen. Download Game Real Football 2012 Multiplayer 320x240 there. This is because I wanted to mount the LCD screen from the top - so the LCD is actually upside down, but, in any event you will probably need to calibrate the touchscreen. There is already a package for this so just run: sudo apt-get install xinput-calibrator then I ran: sudo apt-get install libx11-dev libxext-dev libxi-dev x11proto-input-dev I am not sure all this was required.
But afterwards I had a link in Computer Things!->System->Calibrate Touchscreen You have to be able to click that link with the touchscreen connected. You cannot run xinput_calibrator from the ssh terminal, since it is not within the x-server it will not work. It has to be run on the display you are trying to calibrate.
I tried to find a way to work around this. But in the end I used my USB mouse to put a shortcut on my desktop out by itself. Then reconnected the poorly calibrated touchscreen and poked around until I was able to click the shortcut. Blackspur Dt100 Manual Lawn there. It would be much easier if I had a USB hub handy to connect both the mouse and the touchscreen at the same time. But I didn't, and all is well that ends well.
