Importing Sketchup Files To Rhinoplasty

• Cattoni, F; Mastrangelo, F; Gherlone, E F; Gastaldi, G 2016-01-01 Purpose. Recently, the request of patients is changed in terms of not only esthetic but also previsualization therapy planning. The aim of this study is to evaluate a new 3 D-CAD-CAM digital planning technique that uses a total digital smile process.

Materials and Methods. Study participants included 28 adult dental patients, aged 19 to 53 years, with no oral, periodontal, or systemic diseases. For each patient, 3 intra- and extraoral pictures and intraoral digital impressions were taken. The digital images improved from the 2D Digital Smile System software and the scanner stereolithographic (STL) file was matched into the 3 D-Digital Smile System to obtain a virtual previsualization of teeth and smile design. Then, the mockups were milled using a CAM system. Minimally invasive preparation was carried out on the enamel surface with the mockups as position guides.

The patients found both the digital smile design previsualization (64.3%) and the milling mockup test (85.7%) very effective. The new total 3 D digital planning technique is a predictably and minimally invasive technique, allows easy diagnosis, and improves the communication with the patient and helps to reduce the working time and the errors usually associated with the classical prosthodontic manual step. • Schwendau, Mark 2004-01-01 Computer aided design ( CAD) has been producing 3- D models for years. Auto CAD software is frequently used to create sophisticated 3- D models. These CAD files can be exported as 3DS files for import into Autodesk's 3- D Studio Viz.

In this program, the user can render and modify the 3- D model before exporting it out as a WRL (world file hyperlinked) • Schwendau, Mark 2004-01-01 Computer aided design ( CAD) has been producing 3- D models for years. This design tool calculates the two-dimensional mask set required to produce a given three-dimensional model by investigating the vertical topology to the model.

The 3 D model is first separated into bodies that are non-intersecting, made from different materials or only linked through a ground plane. Next, for each body unique horizontal cross sections are located and arranged into a tree based on their topological relationship. A branch-wise search of the tree uncovers locations where deposition boundaries must lie and identifies candidate masks creating a generic mask set for the 3 D model. Finally, in the last step specific process requirements are considered that may constrain the generic mask set. • Kwon, Soon-Yong; Kim, Ki-Beom; Chung, Kyu-Rhim; Kim (Sunny), Seong-Hun 2014-01-01 The availability of 3 D dental model scanning technology, combined with the ability to register CBCT data with digital models, has enabled the fabrication of orthognathic surgical CAD/CAM designed splints, customized brackets, and indirect bonding systems. In this study, custom lingual orthodontic appliances were virtually designed by merging 3 D model images with lateral and posterior-anterior cephalograms.

By exporting design information to 3 D CAD software, we have produced a stereolithographic prototype and converted it into a cobalt-chrome alloy appliance as a way of combining traditional prosthetic investment and cast techniques. While the bonding procedure of the appliance could be reinforced, CAD technology simplified the fabrication process by eliminating the soldering phase. This report describes CAD/CAM fabrication of the complex anteroposterior lingual bonded retraction appliance for intrusive retraction of the maxillary anterior dentition. Furthermore, the CAD/CAM method eliminates the extra step of determining the lever arm on the lateral cephalograms and subsequent design modifications on the study model. We selected 85 subjects who underwent both a low-dose CT (LD-CT) scan and an additional ULD-CT scan in our lung cancer screening program for high-risk populations.
