Go to Help >About AutoCAD >Product Information and to display the license dialog and click Update. Enter your new serial number. Then click Activate and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the new license. You can use this approach to e.g. Change your old student-version to a newly purchased commercial version of AutoCAD.
